When talking of app development, user feedback is a crucial component that can significantly influence the success of an app. Incorporating user feedbacks effectively can lead to increased user satisfaction, higher retention rate and overall improved product. In this article, I’ll sharing a few practices that you can incorporate in your app development process.
1. Establish Feedback Channels
Work on creating multiple ways for users to provide feedbacks to your app. This can be done by ensuring an in-app survery, feedbacks forms on your website and even through social media. This would make it easy for your user to provide a feedback for your app.
2. Analyse Feedbacks Regualry
Make it a habit that you do check out user feedbacks. For your reference you may consider categorizing the feedbacks into themes such as bug reports, feature request, issues, etc. This will help you identify common pain points and prioritize improvements.
3. Prioritize Changes
Look, not all feedbacks you receive will be relevant. Therefore, you need to prioritize those feedbacks that influence user experience, and align with your app’s goal. Focus on those that can enhance user experience significantly.
4. Implement Changes Iteratively
Adopt an iterative approach to development. Issue changes in small and manageable increments. This allows you to test the impact of each change before proceeding to the next. This ensures gradual and smooth transition for users.
5. Communicate with Users
Make sure to keep your uses informed about the changes you are making based on their feedback. Regular updates and feedback notes can help users feel valued and engaged.
6. Test and Validate
After implementing changes, conduct usability testing to check that the modifications effectively address the user feedback. Gather additional feedback post-release to ensure continuous development.
Case Study: iFitScale
Recently, I launched an android app called iFitScale. The initial launched faced several challenges and was far from being perfect. To improve the app, I decided to send the first version to close contacts for testing. They provided invaluable feedback through my website and WhatsApp.
By addressing their feedback, I was able to enhance the app significantly. Below, you can see a comparision of Version 1 and Version 3 of the iFitScale.

Take a moment to compare these versions. Notice the improvement and changes made based on user feedback. Your views are valuable to me, so please share your thoughts!
